A sample plan
- Consultation and smile design, with photos and a scan.
- Health first: decay and gum problems treated.
- Straightening, if needed.
- Whitening, so final work matches the new shade.
- Bonding or veneers, with a trial smile first.
- Finish two to three weeks before the date, leaving time for any small adjustments.
- A clean and polish a few days before.
Things to avoid close to the date
- New, untested whitening products
- Starting major treatment in the last month
- Hard foods on new bonding in the last days

Questions patients ask us
How long before my wedding should I start?
Ideally six to twelve months, especially if straightening is involved. Whitening and bonding alone can be done in the last few weeks.
Can I straighten my teeth before my wedding?
Often, with clear aligners, if you have six months or more. Small corrections can be quicker. Aligners can be taken out for the day itself and the photos.
When should I whiten before the wedding?
Two to four weeks before, to allow any sensitivity to settle and colour to stabilise, and before any bonding or veneers so they can be matched to the new shade.
What if my wedding is in two weeks?
Whitening, a professional clean, and bonding small chips or gaps are all possible.
Can the groom and family do this too?
Of course. Many families plan cleaning and whitening together before a wedding.
