Understanding the cost

Tooth extraction cost in Gurugram

The cost of removing a tooth depends mostly on how hard it is to remove. A loose front tooth and a wisdom tooth buried sideways in the jaw are very different procedures. We examine the tooth, take an X-ray if needed and then give you the fee in writing.

What decides the cost

Simple or surgical. A tooth that is fully through the gum and in one piece can usually be removed simply. A tooth broken at the gum line, with curved or long roots, or buried in bone needs a surgical extraction, which takes more time and is done by our oral surgeon.

Which tooth. Front teeth have one root. Molars have two or three and sit in thicker bone. Lower wisdom teeth are the most variable of all.

How impacted a wisdom tooth is. Wisdom teeth are commonly grouped as erupted, partly impacted (under some gum or bone) and fully impacted (buried in bone, often tilted). Each step up takes longer.

Planning scans. Most extractions need only a small X-ray. If a lower wisdom tooth’s roots are close to the nerve, a 3D scan (CBCT) may be advised before surgery.

Planning for an implant. If you want an implant later, a bone graft placed in the socket at the time of extraction can preserve bone. That’s an optional, separate item.

What our quote includes

  • the examination and any X-ray needed to plan the extraction
  • local anaesthetic
  • the extraction, simple or surgical
  • stitches, if needed
  • written aftercare instructions and a review visit if needed

Anything optional, such as a socket graft or a 3D scan, is listed separately so you can decide.

Comparing quotes

When you compare extraction costs in Gurugram, check:

  1. Is the quote for a simple or a surgical extraction?
  2. For wisdom teeth, is it per tooth, and is the X-ray or scan included?
  3. Who carries out the surgery?
  4. Are stitches and the follow-up visit included?

Before you choose extraction to save money

Removing a tooth is permanent. If a tooth could be saved with a root canal, it’s worth knowing the full picture first: the gap left by a back tooth usually needs replacing with an implant, bridge or partial denture, and that changes the overall cost. We’ll lay out both routes so you can choose.

Questions patients ask us

Why does wisdom tooth removal cost more than a normal extraction?

Many wisdom teeth are partly or fully buried in bone, tilted or have curved roots, so they need a surgical extraction by an oral surgeon, which takes longer. A wisdom tooth that has come through straight can be as simple as any other extraction.

What is the difference between a simple and a surgical extraction?

A simple extraction removes a visible tooth with instruments, no cut needed. A surgical extraction involves a small cut in the gum, sometimes removing a little bone or dividing the tooth, and stitches. Surgical extractions take longer and cost more.

Is it cheaper to extract a tooth than to have a root canal?

Extraction is cheaper on the day. But if the tooth needs replacing afterwards with an implant or bridge, the total is usually higher than saving it with a root canal and crown. We'll go through both with you.

Do I have to pay extra for the X-ray?

If an X-ray is needed to plan the extraction, it's listed on your quote. For wisdom teeth close to the nerve, a 3D scan (CBCT) may be advised, and that's quoted separately.

Are follow-up visits charged?

A check of the socket or stitch removal after an extraction is part of the treatment. Treating a complication such as dry socket is discussed with you at the time.
