What we offer children
- Children’s dental check-ups and treatment: first visits, fluoride varnish, sealants, fillings and extractions.
- Nerve treatment for milk teeth: pulpotomy or pulpectomy to save a decayed milk tooth.
- Injuries and toothache: see urgent tooth pain.
- Early orthodontic checks: from about age seven, with our orthodontist. See braces and aligners.
Dental care or medical care?
For teeth and gums, book a children’s dental appointment. For fever, coughs, growth, nutrition and other general health questions, see paediatric medical care with Dr. Sunisha Arora. Not sure? See dental or medical: which does my child need?

Questions patients ask us
When should my child first see a dentist?
By their first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Then every six months, or as advised.
What is a paediatric dentist?
A dentist with specialist training in treating children, including very young children, anxious children and children with special needs. Our paediatric dentist sees children who need that level of care.
Is a paediatric dentist the same as a paediatrician?
No. A paediatric dentist treats children's teeth. A paediatrician, like Dr. Sunisha Arora, is a children's doctor for general health. Both are available at Petal Smiles, as separate appointments.
Do you treat toothache in children the same day?
Call the clinic and describe the concern. The team will check the earliest available dental appointment; the time and treating clinician must be confirmed.
