Teeth straightening

Braces and clear aligners in Gurugram

Straightening teeth is planned and supervised by a specialist orthodontist, a dentist who specialises in tooth and jaw alignment. The first step is an orthodontic assessment to see what's possible and which type of brace suits you.

What happens

  1. Orthodontic assessment with our orthodontist: teeth, bite, jaw and X-rays.
  2. Records and plan: photographs, impressions or a scan, and a treatment plan with the likely duration and cost.
  3. Treatment: braces fitted, or the first aligners issued, with regular reviews.
  4. Retainers once the teeth are in position.

Before braces, any decay or gum problems are treated first.

Questions patients ask us

Braces or aligners, which is better?

Both work well for many cases. Aligners are nearly invisible and removable, but only work if worn 20 to 22 hours a day. Braces are fixed, so they work regardless, and can handle a wider range of problems. The orthodontist will tell you which suits your teeth.

Am I too old for braces?

No. Adults can have braces or aligners at any age if their gums and bone are healthy. Treatment can take a little longer than in teenagers.

At what age should a child see an orthodontist?

An orthodontic check around age seven is useful. Most children don't need treatment that early, but some bite problems are easier to correct while the jaw is still growing.

How long does treatment take?

Commonly 12 to 24 months, depending on how much movement is needed. Simple front-tooth cases with aligners can be shorter.

Do teeth move back after braces?

They can, which is why everyone wears retainers after treatment. The orthodontist will explain how long to wear them.
