Teeth straightening

Invisalign and clear aligners in Gurugram

Invisalign and other clear aligners straighten teeth with a series of thin, transparent trays, with no brackets or wires. At Petal Smiles every case is planned and supervised by our specialist orthodontist, from the first scan to the final retainer, and we offer Invisalign alongside other leading aligner brands so the system fits your teeth and your budget.

Who clear aligners suit

Aligners work well for:

  • crowded or overlapping front teeth
  • gaps between teeth
  • teeth that have moved back after braces years ago
  • many mild to moderate overbites, underbites and crossbites
  • adults and teens who want treatment that is barely noticeable
  • straightening teeth before veneers, crowns or implants, so less tooth needs preparing

They suit people who will wear them 20 to 22 hours every day. For severe crowding, large bite corrections or teeth that need a lot of rotation, our orthodontist may advise braces, or braces first and aligners to finish.

Invisalign and other aligner brands

ClearCorrect Straumann Group Established system from a major implant and dental company

What matters most is the orthodontist planning the movements, not the logo on the box. Each aligner is only as good as the plan behind it, which is why every case here is planned and checked by our specialist. More detail: Invisalign vs braces.

What happens

  1. Orthodontic assessment. Our orthodontist examines your teeth and bite, takes X-rays and photographs, and confirms whether aligners suit you. Any decay or gum problems are treated first.
  2. Scan and 3D plan. A digital scan of your teeth is used to plan every stage. You see the planned result on screen and get a written plan with the timeline and the fee.
  3. Your first aligners. Small tooth-coloured attachments may be bonded to some teeth to help the aligners grip. You’re shown how to put the aligners in and take them out.
  4. Changing sets. You move to a new set every one to two weeks and see the orthodontist every six to ten weeks to check progress.
  5. Refinement and retainers. Final small movements are made with extra aligners, then the attachments are removed and your retainers are fitted.

See the stage-by-stage Invisalign timeline.

What the research says

A systematic review in the Angle Orthodontist found aligners are effective at levelling and aligning teeth, at pushing front teeth up (intrusion) and at small movements of the upper back teeth, but less predictable for pulling teeth down (extrusion) and for rotating rounded teeth such as premolars. That’s why the orthodontist’s plan, with attachments, elastics or a short spell of braces where needed, makes the difference.

Looking after aligners

  • Wear them 20–22 hours a day, and keep the case with you when they’re out.
  • Brush your teeth before putting the aligners back in.
  • Rinse the aligners and clean them gently with a soft brush and cool water; hot water can warp them.
  • Drink only plain water with them in.
  • Keep your regular check-ups and cleans with our general dentist.

Risks

Pressure for a day or two with each new set is normal. Not wearing them enough is the main reason treatment slows or teeth don’t move as planned. Trapping food or sugary drinks under the aligners raises the risk of decay. Teeth move back without retainers. Your orthodontist explains your personal risks before you start.

What affects the fee

The brand, how complex the case is, the number of aligner stages, one jaw or both, refinement aligners and the type of retainers. You get a written estimate after the orthodontic assessment. See Invisalign cost in Gurugram.

Questions patients ask us

Do you offer Invisalign in Gurugram?

Yes. Our orthodontist offers Invisalign and other established aligner brands at our clinic in Eros City Square, Sector 49. After your scan we'll explain which system suits your teeth and why.

Is Invisalign the same as clear aligners?

Invisalign, made by Align Technology, is the best-known brand of clear aligner. Other established systems include ClearCorrect, SureSmile and Illusion Aligners. They all move teeth with a series of custom trays; they differ in materials, planning software and price.

Are Invisalign and clear aligners as good as braces?

For many cases of crowding, gaps and mild to moderate bite problems, yes. Braces are still more predictable for some complex movements, such as large rotations or pulling teeth down into place. Your orthodontist will tell you honestly which will give the better result.

How much does Invisalign cost in Gurugram?

It depends on how complex your case is, how many aligners you need, one jaw or both, and the retainers. You get a written estimate after the orthodontic assessment. Our Invisalign cost guide explains what affects the fee.

Does Invisalign hurt?

You feel pressure for a day or two with each new set, which means they're working. Most people find it milder than braces, with no brackets to rub the cheeks.

How many hours a day do I need to wear aligners?

20 to 22 hours a day. Take them out only to eat, to drink anything other than plain water, and to brush. Leaving them out longer slows treatment.

Can Invisalign fix an overbite or a gap?

Aligners close gaps very well and can correct many overbites, sometimes with small elastics. The 3D plan shows what's possible for your bite before you commit.

Can I eat and drink with aligners in?

Only plain water. Take them out for meals, tea, coffee and other drinks, then brush or rinse before putting them back.

Is Invisalign suitable for teenagers and children?

Yes. Invisalign Teen is designed for teenagers, and Invisalign First for some children aged about six to ten. See our page on aligners for teens and kids.

Do I need a retainer after aligners?

Yes. Teeth tend to drift back after any straightening. A clear removable retainer, a fixed wire behind the front teeth, or both, keeps the result.
